What HSCS is

Hedera Smart Contract Service (HSCS) is an EVM-equivalent execution layer on Hedera. You can deploy any Solidity 0.8.x contract using familiar tooling — Hardhat, Foundry, Remix, Ethers.js — and Hedera adds two things you do not get on most EVM chains: predictable USD-denominated gas pricing, and native system-contract bridges to HTS and HCS so contracts can mint, transfer, and audit at protocol cost rather than re-implementing those primitives in Solidity.
